In the Kitchen
Copper has been used for centuries in the kitchen! It is an excellent conductor of heat, so it makes wonderful pots and pans. Naturally, people gravitate towards its visual warm and pleasing aesthetics, as well as the practical features.
While we don't make copper pots and pans, we love to make other copper, and sometimes brass, products for the kitchen. Since 2004, we have been making stunning custom-made copper range hoods, copper backsplashes, solid copper pot racks with copper or brass storage hooks, and we also make a limited number of copper countertops, island tops, and sinks.
We always use high-grade solid copper (never plated!). As much as possible, we source our copper from American mills to guarantee the best purity (with traces of silver) that we can get. Our hoods, for example, are made from 14 gauge copper for durability. Our handmade hooks are made with rod, not wire.
Copper also has some wonderful properties. It has anti-microbial traits, making it a great product to use in the kitchen. And though it can be waxed or sealed to prevent color changes, many people simply love all the color changes you can get when copper reacts with the air, water, and things that might be spilled on it.
